Beginning from where the Atlas mountains fall away to the desert regions you’ll find the kingdom of Kasbahs, palaces made from earth, blending into their surroundings, crumbling testaments to wealth and also to necessity. Often built on escarpments or hilltops as protection against invaders, the Kasbahs predominantly stretch along the Dades and Draa valleys towards the dunes. Seeing them is included as part of all our tour itineraries and their architectural influence can be seen in the tower designs of many of the hotels built throughout the south of Morocco.
